The Penny Dreadful is a newspaper specifically published during the Fylde Folk Festival to give the festival-goers a chance to publish jokes, information and general comments about the weekend. There are also programme changes published to keep everyone up to date.

All items of the Penny Dreadful have been donated fro external firms, the paper from "ICI Chemicals and Polymers" and the photocopier from "Future Office Equipment Ltd, Lancaster!" The newspaper costs a minimum of 10p but any further donations are gratefully accepted as ALL money is given to charity. In 1999 the charity donated to was SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society)
