Dab Hand

Dab Hand are a trio based in Leeds. They consist of: Tom McConville, Gordon Tyrrall and Tom Napper. Dab Hand was formed in the summer of 1983 by Tom McConville, Tom Napper and Jez Lowe. They soon astablished themselves as one of the finest bands on the folk scene. Gordon joined when Jez left. They play traditional dance music and are highly influenced by the fine Irish musicians in Leeds.

Rising irresistibly from the pop-pourri that is roots music, comes Daring Adventures. Daring Adventures plays original material in a folk/rock style, featuring new tunes from fiddle maestro Joe Broughton and songs from Phil Hare: Line up:- Ben & Joe Broughton, Phil Hare & Mike Johnson.

Dave Cooper

"Big" Dave Cooper, famous as the lead and force behind the bands such as, "Woodbine Lizzie", Local Gentry and Motley Crew is a great humorist and singer, with many years of entertaining experience under his belt. Dave is also an excellent compere. A Friend of the Falcon.

For several years Dave was one of the residents at Fleetwood Folk Club and became known throughout the North West and beyond as the front man for the popular folk band "Woodbine Lizzie" noted for their wit & humour. Dave now continues to entertain audiences with new band Motley Crew. A Friend of the Falcon.


Dave Gardner & Ann Topping

An emerging talent from Preston. Dave has three albums currently available of his own material, "Empty Dreams", "Primitive", and the latest, "Losers Paradise". He has supported tours by artists such as Kriss Kristofferson, The Kinks, Steve Hackett, Pentangle, Ian Hunter, Bert Jansch & Michael Chapman. Ann's involvement has lead to a joint musical venture with Ann's keyboards and vocals supporting Dave's strong guitar & Vocals.


Dave Goulder

When Dave Goulder climbed down from the footplate of a class 8 for the last time in 1961, British Railways lost a mediocre fireman but the music world gained a highly individual writer and performer. Leaving school at 15, Dave tried a few jobs before drifting on to the railways, working as a porter, fireman, steamraiser, tubecleaner and knocker-up. The last position was not particularly demanding so he taught himself to play guitar whilst on the night shift, at the same time he started stringing a few verses together on railway subjects.

One of those artist who defies pigeon holing. Lancaster based Dave writes songs about every facet of everyday life aimed at making his audiences laugh, cry or scream.

Dave began his career at Fleetwood, as a founder member of the 'Bonded Boots' trio. They moved to London and took over as residents of the famous Peelers Club. When the group split Dave returned to Lancashire, became part of 'Sullivan' for a short period, but then decided to return to his solo career.

Dave has always looked for new ways to channel his music, one such adventure is the Dave Walters Band, made up of John Adams on keyboard, Steve Czwortek on Electric Guitar and Dave Walters on vocals and guitar. The band has toured the world with their exciting blend of music.


David Jones

The influence of the Spinners first set David on the folk path more than thirty years ago. It was at their Gregson's Well Club that he first sang in public and this led the formation of Windmill Folk in 1970. They were the resident group at the newly opened Sportsman's in Liverpool town centre and went on to run the highly successful club at the Ship in Haskayne, as well as starting up at Formby Football Club.


Debby McClatchy

Born in San Francisco, Debby grew up there influenced by many diverse regional heritage. She is an expert entertainer, skilled in performing with wit and imagination, equally at home with old time mountain music or contemporary material.


Debby McClatchy & the Canoe Creek String Band

As a frequent and popular visitor to Fylde over the past few years, Debby has brought the Canoe Creek String Band with her; fiddler Chris Romain contributed in fine style to Debby's CD "Til the Good Times Come", while Neil Smith's guitar-picking is well-known on the British bluegrass scene.

Derek Brimstone

Born 29th August, 1932, Islington, London. Much of Derek Brimstone's popularity stems from his exceptional ability to cover such a broad spectrum of music and entertainment. Spanning blues, traditional, contemporary and much in between, his entire show is linked together with tall stories, fast one-liners, tragic tales of misfortune and an array of extraordinary characters that find themselves in everyday situations which Derek brings to life, turns around and finds humour in them all.


Derek Elliott

Derek has been entertaining for a long time! Initially in a singing duo with his wife Dorothy, and later with his daughter Nadine and Chris Parkinson in the well respected group "Yorkshire Relish". Derek also is a fine Compere.


Derek Gifford

Derek began singing in folk clubs in the Midlands in the late '60s, moving to Lancashire in 1970. There he ran a successful club near Wigan for over seven years and performed with the popular North-West group Titanic. Since they broke up in 1981, Derek has developed his solo career, appearing at clubs and festivals countrywide.


Derek Stanton

Derek Stanton hails from Oswaldtwistle. He wrote the famous "Battle of Sabden Treacle Mines". He sang with the Blue Water Folk for twenty years and also created the Lancashire Drift programme for Radio Lancashire.


Dick Gaughan

While many of his generation have lost their energy, idealism and dignity, Dick Gaughan remains the giant figure of the British political folk music. A former member of both the Boys of Lough and Five Hand Reel, his roots are in the tradition while his songs are increasingly sharp contemporary comments.


Dick Miles

Dick Miles has a deep interest in traditional music and is also a respected writer of modern songs. He is a leading performer on the concertina. He now lives in Ireland but is still in constant demand at festivals and clubs in England, Ireland and Europe.

Doc Hunt's Blues Prescription

The flexible line-up includes guitarists, keyboards, saxophones,, vocal/harmonies, bass and drums from a pool of musicians numbering up to fifty over the band's six years' experience. Bill Hunt (Doc) has a musical background much wider than just the blues - from 60's rock and roll to through folk club audiences of the 70's to a long spell with "Old Pequliar Band".

Doonan Family Band

The line up has been together for many years as "The Doonan Family Band", but have and even longer association through another North East group "Hedgehog Pie". A wide range of talented musicians, singers and dancers all rolled up in one superb package.


Double Trouble

Andy Smith and Ian Hough are an interesting musical item, describing themselves as an "electric acoustic duo". With a repertoire encompassing many musical forms such as rock 'n' roll, pop, traditional and contemporary folk, plus original material, Double Trouble are hard to categorise but audiences warm to their entertaining performances.

Dave Hunt and Vic Baxter better known as Dr Sunshine and Professor Wingnut are hardy perennials of the festival scene - whether they are performing in the street, to late night audiences or presenting their wonderful children's shows.


Ducks on a Wall

'Ducks on a Wall' is a new and exciting band with experience and versatile. Its members have worked in the folk club, dance and festival scene in England and Europe. Not only is the music adventurous - ranging from English, Irish, European, African and many self penned tunes, but also the arrangement of the tunes have many varied inflences.


Dunn Family

The Dunn Family from Norwich are Gee, John, Hannah and Ruth; wife, husband and two daughters. They sing traditional English songs in unaccompanied three and four part harmony: wassails, hymns, drinking songs, carols, songs of courtship and ceremony. Their particular interest is in ballads, especially those concerned with enchantment and the supernatural.
